AirAsia now restores online check-ins for 168,000 passengers

AirAsia resumed online check-in today at 2pm after a global IT glitch caused disruptions since yesterday afternoon. Datuk Captain Chester Voo, deputy group CEO, advised passengers to arrive early to avoid delays. AirAsia managed over 168,000 passengers on 941 flights today across its seven air operator certificates.

Online check-ins back

The system blackout necessitated a switch to manual operations, causing long queues and delays. Over 200 ground staff and volunteers were deployed to manage the situation. Voo expressed hope for a return to normal on-time performance and thanked passengers for their patience during the outage.
