BUKIT MERTAJAM – UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh declared he is unafraid to face trial over a charge linked to the Jalur Gemilang controversy. Speaking outside court on Friday, Akmal said he would take full responsibility, stressing the matter was about national dignity, not politics or race. Earlier, he pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to a charge of making a statement allegedly causing public unrest. Akmal thanked his legal team and UMNO leadership for their support, vowing the case would spark public resolve to defend Malaysia’s national symbol.
