UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh, also slammed the idea, stating Melaka already has Little India and China Town, and that Jalan Hang Tuah should uphold Malay culture. Critics argue DAP prioritizes Chinese business interests, disregarding Melaka’s history and local businesses.
