SHAH ALAM: UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has urged authorities to explain the differing actions taken in Kampung Sungai Baru and Jinjang Selatan Tambahan.
He questioned why houses built on private land in Kampung Sungai Baru were demolished, while premises in Jinjang Selatan Tambahan, allegedly on rented land and ordered by court to vacate, were spared similar action.
Double Standards
“This shows two different standards. I urge the authorities to respond,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Earlier, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said no demolition would proceed in Jinjang Selatan Tambahan following talks with several government agencies. Previously, 38 traders had expressed dissatisfaction with eviction notices, while community representatives criticised the RM5,000 compensation offer as inadequate.
