KUALA LUMPUR – UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh expressed sympathy for Muhammed Yusoff Rawther but refused to support him due to his past public backing of Israel. Responding to Bersatu’s Tun Faisal, Akmal said Yusoff, recently acquitted of drug and firearm charges, is unworthy of attention compared to others, like Palestinians enduring Zionist oppression.
“And I want to ask, are you willing to support someone who openly supports the Zionists who are killing our brothers in Palestine?”
Akmal suggested Yusoff’s ordeal might be divine guidance to reform his views. He also dismissed queries about ‘Abang Belon’, noting the individual chose other representatives. Akmal challenged Tun Faisal to question his own party’s youth chief first.
