In lieu with what is happening between Israel and Palestine, Malaysians have been boycotting McDonalds and other brands that are seemingly linked to the conflict. However, the brand made multiple statements citing that they are in no way supporting any of the countries in relation to the issue.
McDonalds closure in Shah Alam celebrated by netizens
Netizens state that this is not a great achievement citing that there is another branch nearby the closed one. They state that the orders at that specific restaurant are through the roof, citing that local residents in Shah Alam are still supporting the brand.
Another user talked about how Family Mart will fall victim to the boycotts after the alleged rumors. But Family Mart has also released a statement saying that they are no longer working with the company that is linked to Israel. Despite this, netizens are saying that Malaysians tend to forgive easily.
