DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has advised Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim not to openly speculate about potential candidates for chief minister, a post currently held by Chow Kon Yeow.

Anthony Loke Warns Against Speculation
Loke stressed that such decisions rest with the party’s central executive committee and will only be made after the state assembly is dissolved. He added that DAP will announce only one candidate at the appropriate time, and warned against treating Chow as if he no longer holds authority.
Loke urged party members to focus on public issues rather than internal speculation, saying premature debate risks damaging the party’s image.
