The government will expand its anti-bullying townhall sessions to include primary and secondary school students this October, ensuring their voices shape the upcoming Anti-Bullying Bill.

Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said stressed the importance of transparency and public input, including children’s perspectives. Feedback from earlier sessions called for broader legal definitions, child-friendly complaint mechanisms, and restorative penalties like counselling and community service.
The Bill aims to offer an alternative platform for resolving bullying cases outside court. University students will also be consulted, with the final draft expected to be tabled in Parliament this December.
