Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the monthly BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) allocation will be reduced from 300 litres to 200 litres starting 1 April, citing global oil market uncertainties and conflicts in West Asia.
BUDI95 Subsidy Cut
He noted that nearly 90% of Malaysians consume less than 200 litres monthly, meaning most users will not be affected.
However, UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh urged the government to consider the remaining 10% who rely heavily on the subsidy, such as long-distance commuters and families living apart. He warned the cut could worsen their financial struggles and demanded clarity.
