Floods in Kedah have forced 8,513 people from 2,728 families to evacuate to 44 temporary relief centers (PPS). As Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor remains in Japan for “official business,” five districts are affected, with Kota Setar being the hardest hit, sheltering 4,717 victims. Pendang, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, and Bandar Baharu are also impacted. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited a PPS in Kedah earlier today, announcing RM13 million for infrastructure repairs across the state. Several rivers, including Sungai Bata and Sungai Kedah, have reached dangerous levels.
