Anwar Relinquished More Power in Cabinet Reshuffle Now

This week’s Cabinet reshuffle in actual fact, saw PM Anwar Ibrahim relinquish more power compared to what he was holding. Appointing the Minister of Finance II now means the Keadilan leader has relinquished some power at the MOF to a newcomer whom he said will be more apt to deal with certain issues regarding the country’s finances.

He also appointed a Minister in the Department of the Prime Minister (Federal Territory Affairs) giving more powers to a new face in the role, Dr Zaliha Mustafa. Finally, the PM placed the J-Kom under the Ministry of Communications, giving a specific role to Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Though Anwar was not handling the Comms and Digital, J-Kom was under the PMO and is now not under his direct powers anymore.
