Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated that the federal government will not introduce further targeted withdrawals for Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) contributors.
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat, Anwar emphasized that EPF’s core principles focus on retirement savings, and additional withdrawals would create future problems for contributors.

He stressed the need to balance addressing urgent issues and ensuring contributors’ financial security in retirement. Anwar responded to Padang Terap MP Nurul Amin Hamid’s query about targeted withdrawals for those facing unemployment, debt, and rising living costs.
