Art for Kindness Charity Event Empowers Local and Disabled Artists

December 16, 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Art for Kindness charity event,
organized by Art Market Malaysia in collaboration with Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-
Orang Cacat Selangor dan Wilayah Persekutuan (PPOC), concluded successfully
yesterday, leaving a profound impact on the community and advancing the mission of
empowering local and disabled artists through the transformative power of art.

The event, held at a prestigious venue in Kuala Lumpur, brought together talented
disabled artists whose work was displayed and celebrated. With the generous support
of CSR sponsors such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Yayasan Hasanah, Art
for Kindness provided a vital platform for these artists to showcase their abilities and
generate income, while also promoting awareness of their potential.

Key Highlights from the Event:

Opening Ceremony: The event was officially launched in the morning by YBhg Tan Sri
Datuk Sri Dr. Syed Hamid Albar, Former Malaysian Foreign Minister, who called for a
collective effort from all sectors of society to support people with disabilities. His speech
highlighted the need for the community to come together and ensure that everyone,
regardless of their challenges, is empowered to contribute meaningfully.

disabilities. It is through collaboration that we can build a more inclusive society, where
every individual, regardless of their limitations, can succeed and make a difference.” –

Keynote Address: In the afternoon, Tan Sri Dzulkifli Bin Haji Ahmad, President of Amlac
Academy, and also former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Chief and keynote
speaker for the event, expressed how deeply moved he was by the work of artists with
neurodevelopmental disorders like autism and ADHD. He commended Art Market Malaysia for its efforts in providing these individuals with a platform to not only express
their creativity but also to learn valuable entrepreneurial skills, empowering them to
build a sustainable future.

“I am deeply touched by the incredible talent of artists with neuro disorders like autism
and ADHD. Art Market Malaysia is doing a remarkable job in providing these individuals
with a platform to showcase their talents, while also equipping them with the skills to
enter the world of entrepreneurship. This is a truly empowering initiative.” – Tan Sri
