The luxury brand Balenciaga is known for making quirky designs but they’re lesser known for their classic looks. The Hourglass bag has been a staple for them in recent years, simply due to how modern yet classic looks. Their couture lineup has introduced a version that costs RM200,000.
Balenciaga selling RM200,000 bags
Part of the reason why this specific Hourglass bag costs so much is due to the labor. Balenciaga states, “the embroidery requires 140 hours of work and is crafted from over 10,000 paillettes, 14,000 beads, and 5,000 other precious elements.” As part of their couture collection, this specific bag is made in France.
The other more “mass produced” bags that cost RM10,000 are made in Italy. For the most part, they have the same look but the couture version has a “spark” to it, quite literally.
