Former Bank Manager Pleads Not Guilty to 58 Bribery Charges

A former bank sales manager, Mohamad Faqih Mustapha, pleaded not guilty to 58 counts of bribery at Ayer Keroh Sessions Court. Accused of soliciting and receiving RM600,903 from law firms for housing loan referrals, he faces 29 charges each of soliciting and accepting bribes.

Alleged offences occurred between 2017 and 2022 at Maybank’s Melaka Main branch, a restaurant, and a finance branch. Charged under MACC Act 2009, he could face up to 20 years in prison and hefty fines. Bail was set at RM87,000 with additional conditions, and the case will be mentioned on April 11.
