Beating Jordan
Cools, from Buriram United, is confident that Malaysia won’t be disrupted by Jordan’s physical style of play, citing the team’s speed and endurance as strengths. Jordan’s advantages are in the size and physical strength of its players. Three days ago, Japan geared up for the Asian Cup by beating Jordan 6-1 in Doha in an unofficial practice match played behind closed doors. Qatar has also beaten Lebanon 3-0 in the Asia cup opener.

The Kim Pan Gon-led squad, undefeated in the last few matches, will also compete against Bahrain and South Korea in Group E. This marks Malaysia’s fourth appearance in the Asia Cup, with previous qualifications in 1976, 1980, and 2007.
