Beijing Court Begins Hearings on MH370 Compensation. Families Seek Truth Now

A Beijing court has commenced hearings for compensation cases filed by families of those who died in the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 almost 10 years ago. The flight vanished on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board, mostly from China. Over 40 families have filed lawsuits against Malaysia Airlines, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, and Allianz.

The families seek compensation and the truth behind the flight’s disappearance. The jurisdiction for the Chinese court to enforce claims remains unclear. The Australian-led search, the largest in aviation history, was suspended in January 2017, with hardly any trace of the plane found.
