Bersatu’s Majlis Pimpinan Tertinggi (MPT) has accepted Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, amid PAS accusations of betrayal over the Perlis menteri besar issue.
Bersatu Acceptive of Muhyiddin’s Changed Position
Muhyiddin stressed Bersatu was not involved in removing PAS’s Mohd Shukri Ramli, saying the decision was made solely by the Raja of Perlis. He denied claims of sabotage, insisting Bersatu respected the royal prerogative.
The post is now held by Bersatu’s Abu Bakar Hamzah. PAS leaders have demanded the chairmanship be filled by their party, though no names have been proposed. Muhyiddin said the final decision will be made at PN’s next council meeting.
