PETALING JAYA: Bersih has called on Perikatan Nasional (PN) to clarify its prime ministerial candidate before pushing for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s resignation. The electoral watchdog urged the opposition to table a no-confidence motion in Parliament, alongside PAS Youth’s planned “Himpunan Turun Anwar” rally on July 26. “The opposition must be clear on who will replace Anwar if he steps down,” said Bersih chairman Faisal Abdul Aziz. The rally, replacing a planned protest against the Urban Renewal Act, follows Anwar’s immunity bid in a civil suit. Bersih supports peaceful assemblies, urging police to facilitate them as a democratic right.
