PETALING JAYA, Oct 20 — Barisan Nasional (BN) is likely to retain the 21 seats it won in the 2021 Melaka election and could secure an additional three to four seats, according to political analyst Ong Kian Ming.
The former DAP leader said BN’s current momentum and voter sentiment could help the coalition increase its tally to between 24 and 25 seats. He also predicted BN may wrest one or two constituencies from Pakatan Harapan (PH), identifying Bukit Katil and Ayer Keroh as seats at risk.

Ong said BN could benefit from opposition divisions over electoral cooperation, with differing views among PH component parties on whether to continue working with BN.
Melaka voters will head to the polls on Nov 14, with no formal alliances confirmed so far.
