Budget 2026 to Prioritise SMEs, Social Enterprises, and Franchises

The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Kuskop) hopes Budget 2026 will continue supporting MSMEs and cooperatives, aligning with the 13th Malaysia Plan.

Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said consultations with the Finance Ministry have concluded, with proposals focused on scaling up SMEs, developing social enterprises, and expanding the franchise sector.

Budget 2026 to Prioritise SMEs

SME Bank will maintain its focus on halal industries, exports, and contract financing, while also offering non-financial support through its subsidiary CEDAR.

Acting CEO Datuk Mohammad Hardee Ibrahim expressed confidence in sustaining these priorities. The ministry aims to ensure inclusive growth and capacity building across Malaysia’s entrepreneurial landscape.
