BUDI95 Rolls Out Nationwide, 16 Million Malaysians to Benefit

Starting midnight, 16 million Malaysians will benefit from the BUDI MADANI RON95 initiative, which offers subsidised petrol at RM1.99 per litre—lower than the previous blanket rate of RM2.05. Each eligible citizen receives up to 300 litres monthly, verified via MyKad or digital wallet.

The programme began with armed forces and B40 recipients, and has already recorded RM3.7 million in fuel purchases. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the cap meets the needs of 98–99% of Malaysians. The targeted subsidy aims to curb misuse, reduce fiscal burden, and redirect savings to education, health, and social development.
