The luxury brand Chanel used to be known for their immaculate quality and luxury materials. However, as mentioned several times, it seems that they are known for simply being expensive and nothing else. Their quality has appeared to be lesser than before, and social media users are discussing this extensively.
But, despite the conversations happening, it is unclear if the decline of quality is a legitimate claim. There could be a possibility that some customers may have not given these items the care they should receive, or some form of manufacturing defects could be in place as well.
Google’s AI acknowledging Chanel’s alleged quality decline?

At the same time, Google’s AI mentioned that the brand has increased their prices while the quality is perceived to be declining.
The discussion on Chanel’s quality
Following that, reports state Chanel handbags have seen rising prices but alleged declining quality, leading fashion lovers to turn to vintage alternatives.
Alleged complaints of uneven stitching, lower-quality leather, and less durable hardware are common. This shift towards vintage bags, which are often better crafted, reflects disappointment with new models despite their high cost.
Just recently, a Reddit user asked fellow brand lovers if the bag she is looking at is of good quality or not. She adds that for $10,000 or in Malaysia, its RM53,000, the bag should not have any visible flaws despite it being made of leather and other natural materials.
Others alleged that the items some of these luxury houses are offering look more like dupes or fakes rather than their own products. They add that this tends to happen when individuals purchase these branded items to show off rather than the brand’s heritage or quality.
A user stated they own both newer and older models of the brand’s classic bags, highlighting a stark quality difference. According to them, the disparity is so pronounced that even those unfamiliar with the fashion industry would notice.
Regardless, the brand has not made any public statements regarding their quality, and they have not increased the prices of their items for the second half of this year. It is no secret the luxury industry is in turmoil, but it appears the brand is still doing well financially.
