SALT LAKE CITY — The suspect in the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk is in custody after his father recognised him in FBI photos and urged him to surrender. Tyler Robinson, 22, reportedly confessed to the killing but initially told his father he would rather kill himself than face arrest. Concerned, the father contacted a youth pastor, who in turn alerted the US Marshals. They secured Robinson until the FBI took over. Governor Spencer Cox confirmed the arrest, noting Robinson had grown “more political” in recent years while working as an electrical apprentice.
