Commuters say Public Transport Ridership LOW due to Lack of Accessibility

There has been a recent suggestion that in lieu of the low riderships for the public transportation infrastructure in the country, more houses should be built along the existing lines. However, for those who actually commute daily, they’d know that the LRTs and MRTs are packed during rush hour. 

Commuters say public transport ridership low due to lack of accessibility 

Additionally, social media users say that the times when the trains and buses are empty are during off peak hours. Having better connectivity like those available in Singapore and Western Europe may help increase ridership during non-peak hours.

Others add that homes with MRT/LRT access are out of reach for the average Malaysians. Those who can afford to live in such places may opt to drive their own vehicles.
