Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad announced that Malaysia is closely monitoring Covid-19, with a weekly average of 600 cases, below the national alert threshold, and no deaths reported in 2025. This follows rising cases in Thailand (16,607 cases, six deaths, May 4-10) and Singapore (14,200 cases, 133 hospitalisations, April 27-May 3). The National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre is conducting risk assessments. From EW1 to EW19, Malaysia recorded 11,727 cases, peaking at 1,229 in EW2 and EW3, then declining to 210 by EW15. The ministry enforces real-time case reporting and uses “rumours surveillance” for early detection, urging the public to stay vigilant and vaccinate.
