Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has directed state religious authorities to crack down on immoral activities tied to “deviant practices,” specifically targeting the “Glamping With Pride” programme in Hulu Langat next week.

During an audience at Istana Bukit Kayangan with Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) chair Salehuddin Saidin and Mufti Anhar Opir, the Sultan explicitly rejected festivals, parades, or promotions promoting LGBTQ+ lifestyles. He also opposes any related associations, clubs, NGOs, or organisations in the state. Mais and the Mufti affirmed such acts violate Islamic teachings, urging police and local authorities to block the event and deny permits, enforcing the Sultan’s firm stance.
