Customs seize contraband goods worth over RM700,000, including some toys now

KLANG: The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Central Zone II (Selangor) recently thwarted multiple smuggling attempts, seizing contraband goods valued at RM730,530. Operations around the Klang Valley uncovered 4,685 litres of zamzam water worth RM117,200, cigarettes valued at RM505,100, 644.64 litres of branded alcoholic beverages, 2,816 glazed porcelain tiles without CIDB approval, and 200 sex toys.

The zamzam water was found during a raid in Shah Alam, while cigarettes were discovered in a North Port warehouse and an unoccupied premises in Seri Kembangan. The items were misdeclared and stored strategically to avoid detection. Investigations are ongoing under the Customs Act 1967.
