The family of the late former finance minister Daim Zainuddin has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the police chief and the Malaysian government. The legal action claims abuse of power and defamation linked to allegations of a conspiracy to overthrow the government.

Daim Family Challenges Allegations Of Plot Against Government
Authorities had previously suggested that Daim’s widow, Na’imah Abdul Khalid, could be linked to an alleged plot to destabilise the government. The family has strongly denied the accusations and said the investigation is politically motivated.
The lawsuit seeks a court declaration that the investigation and allegations were unlawful and damaging to the family’s reputation.
