KOTA KINABALU, Sept 25 — DAP policy director Chan Foong Hin praised Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for formally recognising the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), describing the move as a significant commitment to the Chinese community. Chan, also deputy plantation and commodities minister, said the decision reflects the state government’s vision of inclusivity and equality.
UEC and Sabah – DAP
Hajiji announced that UEC holders may be considered for state scholarships and admission into state-owned universities such as University College Sabah Foundation and Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah. He also pledged allocations to vernacular schools and non-Islamic religious bodies. Chan said Sabah DAP strongly supports this agenda, commending the collaboration between Pakatan Harapan/DAP and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in advancing education and community welfare.
