DAP leader Liew Chin Tong has questioned Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali’s political manoeuvres amid growing cracks in the party. Recalling Azmin’s pivotal role in the 2020 Sheraton Move, Liew suggested Azmin may now be plotting to replace president Muhyiddin Yassin while clashing with deputy president Hamzah Zainudin and positioning himself as a rival to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Liew said Bersatu’s leadership, born from defections, lacks principles and stability. He added that Muhyiddin’s recent admission of internal dissent exposed weakness, fuelling speculation that Azmin is preparing a new “formula” for political ascendancy.
