PETALING JAYA: DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook stressed that his party can progress without depending on MCA, dismissing claims of collaboration between the two rivals. He clarified that DAP never expressed interest in working with MCA, noting that their cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) exists only within the unity government framework. Responding to MCA Youth’s remarks about strained ties, Loke said BN must determine its own electoral strategies, adding that Umno has consistently backed the unity government. MCA, however, continues to show discomfort with Umno’s growing closeness to DAP, fueling internal debates on its BN future.
