Datuk Vida fails to set aside RM1.55 million default judgment over unpaid loan

1 min read

The High Court has dismissed an application by cosmetic entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida, whose real name is Hasmiza Othman, to set aside a default judgment involving an outstanding loan of RM1.55 million. The court ruled that the application filed by the businesswoman did not provide sufficient grounds to overturn the earlier decision.

Court rejects Datuk Vida’s bid to overturn RM1.55 million default judgment

The judgment relates to a financial claim filed against the entrepreneur after she allegedly failed to repay a loan owed to the plaintiff. The default judgment had previously been granted after the court found that the payment had not been settled as required under the terms of the claim.

The court’s decision means the earlier ruling remains in force, requiring Vida to resolve the outstanding amount owed. The case adds to previous legal disputes involving the entrepreneur over unpaid debts and court-ordered actions involving her assets.
