Daycare Worker Charged With Baby’s Murder

A 22-year-old daycare worker, Nur Farhana Fazmar Abdullah, was charged in the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court with the murder of a four-month-old baby boy at Taska Pintar Hospital Seberang Jaya on March 9. No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the High Court’s jurisdiction. 

Daycare Worker Charged 

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty or up to 40 years in prison with at least 12 strokes of the cane if not sentenced to death. The court denied bail and set June 23 for mention pending chemical and autopsy reports. Another 22-year-old woman was released on RM10,000 bail as a prosecution witness.
