Former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin expressed dismay over a viral incident involving Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcers allegedly roughing up a balloon vendor on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman during Ramadan. The Perikatan Nasional chairman called the aggression unwarranted, especially against a street hawker whose only fault was selling balloons. Noting the economic pressures and festive season struggles, he urged local authorities to show empathy and issue temporary licenses to small traders like “Abang Belon,” who clashed with DBKL after resisting orders to move for obstructing traffic. Muhyiddin stressed the need for compassionate solutions to support livelihoods during tough times. Nevertheless, pro-PH X users are holding Muhyiddin responsible for the chaos during his reign with the COVID-19 lurking around.
