Don’t sell RON95 petrol to foreign-registered vehicles

The Johor division of the Malaysian Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry its officers will take action against petrol operators who sell RON95 gasoline to foreign-registered cars in the state.

Officers will remain on the ground to guarantee that drivers and operators comply with the regulations. Since August 1, 2010, Malaysia has prohibited the selling of RON95 gasoline to foreign-registered automobiles. Locals get a discount on RON95 and foreign vehicles can refuel with the more expensive Ron97.

“Ministry enforcement officers in the state … will continuously monitor and do checks to ensure that there are no illegal sales of controlled items, especially petrol and diesel, in the state of Johor,” he said, adding that the operation involves some 200 people,” says an official from the ministry to CNA.
