In the meantime, there will be elections only if the party, Umno, ‘feels’ it is confident of winning in the GE15, says PM Ismail Sabri Yakoob, who, in the meantime, caused a ruckus after he allowed for the withdrawal of RM10k from the EPF.
“If we are confident of winning, we will not wait even one second to dissolve parliament for GE15 (the 15th general election). All of us up here (on stage) want Barisan Nasional (BN) to become the dominant party again in the country,” the PM said during his speech at the Umno General Assembly.
In order not to let the opposition parties claim credit for the EPF withdrawal, Sabri told the delegates he decided to announce it during the congress and not during the Johor elections because this shows it is through Umno’s ‘struggle’ that people can now withdraw more from their pension funds.
