KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — Urimai chairperson P Ramasamy has suggested that MCA and MIC could face scrutiny from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if they leave Barisan Nasional (BN). He said speculation persists that “long-buried skeletons” could resurface, warning that selective prosecution has become a feature of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government. While acknowledging the challenges of aligning with Perikatan Nasional, Ramasamy argued that MCA and MIC’s submissiveness to Umno has long weakened their political standing and eroded community support. He stressed that their decline stems largely from Umno’s dominance, which reduced them to “scraps of power.”
