Second, a basic pension of RM500 for 80% of retirees, excluding civil servants, could assist 2.4 million people, funded initially through subsidy savings. Third, Anwar could resolve the higher education funding crisis by making tertiary education free, following Sarawak’s model, with Sabah considering a similar move.
