Subang MP Wong Chen has voiced his support for graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza, who is under police investigation for a satirical graphic about Sabah’s new governor, Musa Aman. Wong emphasized that political satire and parody should not be treated as crimes and called for impartiality in the police probe. Fahmi is being investigated under the Sedition Act, the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA), and the Penal Code. The investigation began after the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) filed a report over the graphic, which was published on Dec 17, the day of Musa’s appointment.
