A 59-year-old Malaysian businessman was kidnapped outside his Johor Bahru home on October 13 while preparing for a business trip. Three masked men attacked him, forced him into a car, and took him to an unknown location. The kidnappers demanded a RM30 million ransom but later agreed to RM20 million after negotiations with the victim’s family. The family initially paid RM5 million in cash, while the rest was transferred through a Singaporean friend. The businessman was released 14 hours later. Johor police are investigating the case and have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information.
