FamilyMart Malaysia clarifies that Itochu Aviation has ended its MoU with the Israeli Defense Company. It insists that it does not support violence or murder, and does not contribute or donate or even deal with Israel. The company says in March 2023, Itochu Aviation (a subsidiary of Itochu Corporation) signed a MoU with Nippon Aircraft Supply and also Elbit Systems. The aim was to bring technology for Japan’s defense.

FamilyMart vs Boycott
“This decision (to end the deal) was made in support of the Japanese government’s support for the recent order of the International Court of Justice, which includes preventing acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip,” a statement from the company on its Instagram account says. It says it is aware of the call for a boycott of the brand in Malaysia.
