Justice Noor Hayati Mat ruled that the plaintiffs failed to prove the defendants’ defence was baseless, adding that questions of defamation would be decided at trial. The court also ordered the plaintiffs to pay RM5,000 in costs.

The decision allows MalaysiaNow to maintain publication of the disputed articles pending trial. Farhash and the others, who are seeking RM10 million in damages, confirmed they will file an appeal.
