A former administrative assistant, Nurul Syafiha Awang Za, was sentenced to three months in jail and fined RM20,000 for criminal breach of trust involving RM41,652.42 in death benefits meant for seven Felda settlers’ families.

She pleaded guilty to misusing the funds for personal use while employed at the Felda Sungai Panching Timur Office between 2018 and 2019. Judge Sazlina Safie ordered the sentence to begin immediately, with an additional six-month imprisonment if the fine goes unpaid. Charged under Section 406 of the Penal Code, the case was prosecuted by the MACC and highlights the serious consequences of betraying public trust.’
