Bukit Aman will question an English news portal’s chief editor over a report on a purported casino plan at Forest City, Johor. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the investigation, initiated by a complaint from businessman Tan Sri Vincent Tan.

The probe, under the Sedition Act, Penal Code, and Communication and Multimedia Act, follows a police report on the article titled ‘Malaysia Mulls Casino at Forest City: Bloomberg’. The USJT plans to interview Berjaya Corp Bhd founder Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay soon. Meanwhile, Malaysia has dropped 34 places in the 2024 World Press Freedom Index, ranking 107th compared to 73rd the previous year. According to the RSF report, Malaysia scored 52.07 points compared to 62.83 the previous year.
