A former Malaysian diplomat, Dennis Ignatius, says ex-PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad played racist games, He wrote this in the preface to his book Paradise Lost: Mahathir and the End of Hope.
Many people will not agree with him, but there are also others who will support this view. This is a book that will further divide the opinions on Mahathir.
“Mahathir was a man of many sides,” Ignatius said. He adds the side that dismayed him the most was Mahathir’s race-based vision for Malaysia.
Ignatius also bases his opinion on Mahathir’s second stint as the PH prime minister. Criticising the fact he pushed a form of Malay unity that was more towards a Malay supremacy agenda.
