Democrat Shawn Harris and Republican Clay Fuller will face off in a runoff for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District after no candidate secured a majority in Tuesday’s special election.
Vacant Greene Seat Sparks Fierce Contest
The seat was vacated by Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned in January following a split with President Donald Trump. Trump endorsed Fuller, a district attorney and Air National Guard officer, but his support wasn’t enough to secure victory outright in a crowded 14-candidate field.
Harris, a cattle farmer and retired brigadier general, led early returns in the heavily Republican district. The runoff winner will serve the remainder of Greene’s term until November.
