KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police have launched a major investigation into Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB), linked to a serious child abuse case. The group has approximately 10,000 followers, including children, many of whom are reportedly practicing the deviant teachings of the Al-Arqam sect. Authorities have seized nearly RM5 million (US$1.1 million) in cash and assets during recent raids, detaining 32 leaders, including CEO Nasiruddin Mohd Ali. While Nasiruddin acknowledged isolated cases of abuse, he denied widespread allegations. Police are urging fleeing members to return for support, as many are now without homes or direction.
