On Friday, a Telegram group said the government of PM Anwar Ibrahim will collapse and PN will have a new PM. Though there was no immediate reaction from Putrajaya, the Sarawak Premier Abang Johari paid what seemed to be an impromptu (unexpected visit) to Putrajaya, where he met with Anwar Ibrahim. After an hour-long meeting, PM Anwar made a statement saying the Sarawak Premier has given him guarantees that there will be no ‘tebuk atap’ government.

Golden Silence
While it means the Sarawak Premier has given Anwar such assurances the GPS will not play into new plots that could lead to the collapse of the regime in power, the silence from the Sarawak PM is questionable. An analyst told @LatestMalaysia that the silence from Sarawak is golden. “It may mean that GPS was approached by parties to dump the unity government. It may also mean the Sarawak counterparts are waiting for more actions from Anwar on MA63 or an increase in the royalties paid to Borneo,” says the analyst.
