New Government Policies Boost Early Voting in Kuala Kubu Bharu By-Election

Political analysts suggest the government’s employee-friendly policies endeared them to security forces, reflected in increased early voting in the Kuala Kubu Bharu by-election. UPM’s Senior Lecturer in Political Science, Nur Ayuni Mohd Isa, credits this to incentives and announcements benefiting civil servants. 

Government policies boost early voting 

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s initiatives include early incentives, Eid aid, and a recent 13% salary hike. Unified government candidate Pang Sock Tao won the by-election, with police and military support significantly favoring the unified government over the National Front. Analysts foresee continued support if the Anwar-led government maintains incentives, reflecting an unwritten rule of loyalty among civil servants.
